This past weekend we sailed on our friend's boat to Catalina Island for his 30th birthday. We booked three nights on one of the nine boat-in only campsites and it was an amazing experience! The weather was perfect and the water was crystal clear. Find out how you too can camp on your own private beach! It's a perfect idea for special occasions and celebrations... or maybe even pop the question on Catalina Island?
Big Sur is one of California's most iconic destinations! If you have a California Coast road trip or vacation planned and are heading to Big Sur then see this round up of the top 5 camping spots to stay at along this magnificent stretch of coastline.
Pismo Beach is one of the coolest beach towns on the California coast and a well known summer holiday spot. We found this awesome place a few years ago on our first visit to the USA. We were road tripping up the Pacific Coast Highway and it was first up on our tour of the California coast. We wanted to tent camp and it was the only campground in the area. We hadn't made a reservation and it was the beginning of summer holidays so we were very lucky to grab the last site when we turned up. As it was June, the weather was mostly foggy (we were expecting warm weather) but we loved that it gave us a reason to use the fire pit. We have been back twice because this is our favorite coastal town in California...maybe even best town in California. This campground will make your stay in Pismo extra special!
Death Valley National Park is America's largest national park. Yes, this national park is larger than Yellowstone! In my opinion, it is also one of the best. Even though the name Death Valley does not sound that appealing, we were extremely looking forward to scorching temperatures after completing a ski season at Mammoth Mountain.
We had originally planned to stay for only two nights but we enjoyed our time here so much we ended up staying for over a week. Part of this was due to the pleasant stay we had at Stovepipe Wells campground and also because we had no idea that the park was so big and there was so much to explore.
